What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Our production company name is ‘Smashed Mirror production' this links in with the title of our film 'Broken Beauty'. We also used a smashed type of text to show how the characters emotions are she is broken emotionally and to get this forward to our audience we used bold smashed text. Also our logo is a smashed mirror which relates to the production company name.

 

A production company is a company responsible for physical production of new media , performing arts, film, radio or a television programme.

Our movie is independent film which would mean the money to fund our product would be ours, Burntwood School or external companies if we was to send our treatment and plans for the film to agencies which we would have to wait if they like it they my consider it and help pay for some funds.

In titles they generally go in order of their importance. For example, in films, the first is usually the motion picture company, followed by the producer. Next, depending on his or her postion, the director may be granted an extra, outstanding credit. The major starring actors would come next, then the title of the movie and the rest of the principal cast.

 

Here the same man has directed and produced, he has been mentioned in the titles this may show he has a good status.

Distribution is one of the four elements of the marketing. An organization or set of organizations involved in the process of making a product. A distributor is a company or individual  for releasing films to the public either theatrically or for home viewing. How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Our media product would attract typical teenage girls from the age of 15-18 as they can relate to the main girl as they could have a silimar life styles.

The girl within our film wears make-up this shows us she wants to make herself look glamorous as many young women want to do. The satorial codes of our main character is a young girl who is shown with little clothing making her vunerable and seen to some in a sexual nature. In this image we have of our character shows the audience that she is confident and in control as many teenage girls feel as they reach the teen stage they feel a sense of freedom, we have tried to show this in our film but by showing young teens this shows them that by having to much freedom could end them in trouble. Our character looks like a typical popular girl very glamorous and confident, similar to a popular girl of the same age from the horror 'Tormented'.

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product?





This is our preliminary task, this allowed us to demonstrate our basic knowledge and understanding of continuity editing and develop skills on how to use editing techniques such as match on action , shot reverse shot and the 180 degree rule; through developing these skills we were able to make decisions as what techniques to include in our final piece, compared to our final piece the preliminary task was very rough which allowed us to not make the same mistakes in the final piece.

Lighting in our preliminary task was dim and inconsistent which was distracting and showed that we needed to improve our continuity editing, also the sound was low and was very difficult to to hear what the characters were saying from these mistakes we were able to improve the final piece, editing was also a problem as we needed to learn how to edit and some shots were not in a smooth transition.

The preliminary task allowed us to learn how to use the filming equipment and use camera shots such as close up and mid-shots as well as panning and tilting, which we used in both the final piece and preliminary.

The preliminary task was helpful and useful as we learnt how to use filming equipment and how to use the editing software, we were able learn and use to editing techniques that were incorporated in the final piece; in conclusion I think that the progression from preliminary was successful as our final piece was not like our preliminary with less mistakes.

How did you attract/address your audience?

Our audience research allowed us to include ideas and conventions in our product that would attract our audience, this allowed us to create our final product so our audience would like it.
